I recently have been writing world leaders to let them know my opinion on the "housing crisis". My take: it's not a crisis at all, but a return to sanity.

It should not take a lifetime to buy a life. Yet, the high costs of housing make each and every person a slave who must buy his way to freedom from day one. Some never make it.

Houses should be as cheap, or cheaper than cars, since they are less sophisticated to build and use simpler materials. A person should be able to sit down and buy a house with a three year loan. A person should be able to buy and old house, and tear it down and put up a new one with the same three year loan.

Cars should be $5000 brand new. In India they plan to launch a $2000 car. This is absolutely right.

We can make the goods that cheap. We should sell them that cheap. Then people would not be fighting and scrambling so much for resources that should be simple to acquire. People will not be forced to hold jobs they do not want -- only for a short time. They will say, yes, I will do this awful job, but in three years I will be free.

This is what we need.
