Maybe it's because I'm from the days of big analog cathode ray tv sets, whose tuners required quite a twist to make the clunk a clunk clunk for changing channels, but I have lots of frustrations with today's technology that is overly touchy.

For example, I can hardly use my Android smart phone without inadvertently dialing someone. There are so many "live" widgets and hypertexts that I end up pressing two or three things at a time. Scrolling is impossible. I get a list of articles and I want to go down the list, but as soon as I put my (presumably fat and heavy) thumb on the screen I go off into a browser that takes forever to load...I then angrily press the back button too many times and get bumped out of my "app"!

The same thing is happening with super dynamic javascripted web pages. Half the time I can't even mouse over the screen without some ad then launching wherein music begins and a model starts announcing the news.

I have been pulling back like a turtle into less hyper online environments like ebooks, with its flat, plain, unlinked, linear prose, just to get away from the bounciness of it all.
