Many subscribe to the SIDI theory, just as a matter of repetition
or childhood indoctrination.* But it has become all too clear to me
that this phrase is, in truth, uttered as an act of oppression, a "raising
of the stakes", and as a false accusation, by what we might call the
"dealers" of the world.

Consider. First, if it *were* true, then the threat of the SIDI taunt
would lead to the situation where nobody would feel free to publicly
acknowledge what all must be experiencing, for fear that they themselves
would be accused of "dealing". "Dealers" in particular would quickly
learn not to be the first to say it was smelt.

Secondly, this aphorism suggests a high level of cunning on the part
of the "dealers" of the world, one that would tend to be evident in other
parts of life. Different people are less or more likely to try to shift
blame to others, less or more likely to know when that might be likely
to succeed. This level of cunning, to accuse others of your own
misdeeds, but only in cases of a covering ambiguity, would require
great skill to repeat over the course of extended time. Repeated
instances of false SIDI accusations are likely to be discovered, and
the actual dealer's identity revealed.

A non-dealer might embrace, or at least accept a SIDI accusation
in a situation where SI has already been announced. For the dealer,
though, the situation is different. This is the one person who has
the most to gain by reciting SIDI, and is thus the most likely culprit.
Not only is suspicion "deflected", but non-dealers are less likely
to complain of SI in the future.

Outcome: SI complainers are falsely accused. In effect, "dealers"
(those that DI) are oppressing SI complainers. The fact
that this is not widely noted on the internets is a sign that the
truth of the SIDIDI theory ("Those who say SIDI, really DI") has been
suppressed. Only a conspiracy of "silence" would have this
odious (and deadly) effect.

the mainstream of thought on the matter, though a seemingly early
user of the SIDI nomenclature.
