I've been reading that India has exhausted its pool of IT workers and developers and is having a hard time finding people with the required skills. That means good news for the dead American programmer who may now become a pickup player for the big Indian IT firms. Or, he may have more justification to ask for a raise from his penurious employer.

One trend that should slow is the increase in management salaries -- a management that has constantly tried to cut out the developer with scams such as offshoring, snake oil products otherwise known as "application servers" and various tricks to prove that by "we don't need to pay all these salaries".

Yeah, and look what happened. IT management destroyed the creativity and vitality of the IT workplace. It propped itself up and invested resources in wasteful products and failed schemes at a time when it should be rolling ground up projects that enhance value.
