The only real wealth is in stocks. Stocks represent the value of ownership in entities that actually produce value. Land, oil, gold...and money...are all dependent on the health and success of our businesses. Money was invented as an information that one persons value can translate into that a baker could buy from a hatter. Now, we live in a world where we don't need that physical translation to paper and coin. I can forsee that we would replace money with stock. I buy stocks with ShareBuilder...I can buy any fraction of stock...25 cents worth of GM if I want. So, how about, I can "give" or trade the worth of the stock. Say I want something from Amazon, I should be able to buy it with 5.42 shares of GM at the instant it is worth what Amazon wants to sell the product to me. With stock "trading" (har har) we could cut out the middlemen (the Fed, Treasury and Government in general) from business transactions...
