They snagged me again. A catchy title - "The 25 Most Overexposed Celebrities". Thought it would be a quick funny read.

But no -- this article on Forbes was an introduction to a 180 second video, that began with a 20 second commercial. It then launched into the traditional news reporter format, laying out all the explanatory details before telling us who's on the gd list !

There seems to be a use of video on the web because we can. Because we can make these videos quickly and put them on the web, we do. Not because it's appropriate to the information content, but because we want to force you to listen to a 20 second blurb about "People Ready" office software.

It really shows the compression and power of text.

I could have absorbed the complete "list" in about a second by scanning the actual text list.

No wonder advertisers fear text...
