There are many confusing social issues being argued in the media today, many that some might have thought long buried. This seems more due to blindsightedness and the new social media have shed lights on cans that are clearly open.

There are many issues where people are asking for equality. Marriage equality for example. I am 100% for gay marriage; however, this is only because gay people that I correspond with in the social media consider it important to them. I, myself, think it is not actually what is correct or what they should even want, but I am not one to tell other people who feel strongly on this issue how to think.

However, I will say this, I think that trying to look for equivalence in social issues isn't always the correct way. Well, your kneejerk reaction, if you're a liberal, would be to say, oh, he's going to talk about superiority/inferiority...you want a slave society!

No. Not at all. I am suggesting that some of our confusion comes from not seeing relationships that symbiotic, rather than equivalent. In a symbiotic relationship, it's all about a kind of passive version of M.A.D. -- mutual assured destruction. We need them as much as they need us (although, 21st century technology is also changing this...but not quite yet). You could say that the War Between the Sexes (recently recast as a more lopsided War on Women) is based on this. At the end of the day, we need both sexes. And as has been pointed out in posts here, homosexuals clearly need heterosexuals to reproduce the "gay gene" or those genotypes that lead to homosexuality. At the same time, we'd clearly spiral out of living space if everyone were a driven randy sexed up heterosexual.

So too with abortion. The mother declares a right to privacy. The advocates of the blastopod declare the rights of the individual and call it murder. Is either view correct? Clearly the mother is host to the blastopod, at the same time, across the board, we need babies to survive. Argument...can a one month pregnant mother smoke meth because of a right privacy?
