Preliminary reports of a crashed plane today listed the
event as a "double bird strike".

This is not the first time that birds have engaged in this
kind of asymmetrical attack.

What we need is a War on Birds.

We've tolerated this threat for far too long. Those
who believe that we can continue trying to "scare"
birds away from airports, are out of step with the
American public. I consider them to be "Soft on Birds."

The "double" strike suggests a concerted effort.
It is impossible to question the attackers, because
they did not survive.

We need to open new front in the Global War on Birds.
A massive military assault is needed, attacking their
strongholds and training grounds, tracking down their
leaders and capturing or killing them.

Again, those who think that biologists and civil officials
can handle this situation do not fully appreciate the nature
of this threat. Nothing less than a concerted military
attack, a war, will succeed.
