Ok, I won't make the black-white jokes (just yet), but Obama so far impresses me as possibly a True Penguin.

Heck, he even got the endorsement of Linus Torvalds (who doesn't vote in this country).

I'm hopeful...hopeful that we can finally have some real "market sense" and not have mollycoddled monopolies run by a few people when it comes to the most important and widely disperse technological infrastructure.

Open source and open formats should be a hallmark of Government...the People shouldn't be forced to prop up the high salaries of the vendors of proprietary products.

The signs are good...if we can stay focused.

People from the Obama campaign have said that they use Ubuntu 8.04. It seems to be used nationally.

I guess I was giving him too much credit...he was sporting a Zune at a workout club in Philadelphia.

Meet the new boss -- same as the old boss.

Zune is bad?

Did the old boss sport one?

Turns out -- according to his press manager -- that it wasn't a Zune, just an iPod with Zune-like earbuds.

I had simply hoped that he would be a champion of Open Source and Linux.

There were some very promising comments in his President-Elect address this weekend in which he actually credits the development of the World Wide Web to CERN.
