In the future, I might be able just to say "Attention span.
Internet. Screen size. Text. Meme." and everyone will

In the past, conveying a message depended on packaging
that message up with other messages (the newspaper,
the magazine, the collection of short stories), or making
it large enough, in itself, to allow it to be economically
distributed (the novel). Only Hollywood moguls could
write "Hockey Mom President" on a napkin and expect to
be paid.

Now, in year 10 a.G. (after Google), anyone's ideas,
no matter how "small" or insignificant, can be published,
and available around the world in seconds, at virtually
no cost.

You don't need to write a dictionary, you need only write
a definition. A dissertation would be quite nice, but an idea
that could be expressed on a single screen might have a
wider and more enduring effect. The internet and a faster
pace of life favor the short form, ranging from the
definition of a word, to the meaning of a phrase, and
including the short, screen-sized essay.

As it happens, YRIHF fits right into this shift. If you have
an original idea that fits within this short form motif, I
invite you to post it here.
