Tonight I went to the ATM machine to deposit a check (rare, but I was reimbursed for attending a class downtown).

It was 8 pm, a Sunday and raining, so of course someone else drove up and began using the ATM machine next to it, and confusion reigned!

Why? Because ATM machines all use the same "beep" sound for acknowledging keystrokes. You would think that people probably tune those sounds out -- but no, they are loud and we (or I) tend to synchronize our inputs with the sounds. So when another, asynchronous machine makes sounds out of kilter with my own -- but the same tone and pitch -- it drives me bonkers.

Can someone adjust any adjacent ATM machines so that they have slightly different sounds for keypress feedback...or, better yet, except for Other-Abled customers -- turn it off completely!
